I seem to have taken a little hiatus with this series, but it’s back thanks to the productivity tips from Chris Kresser (keep reading for more info).
It’s been a super busy and productive week. Thanks to my new sleep patterns, I’m up by 6-6:30 every morning and I can get some reading in before my day gets started.
Here’s what caught my attention around the web –
- If you do nothing else this weekend, listen to Part 1 and Part 2 of this podcast by Chris Kresser on productivity (or read the transcripts). I read the transcripts, since I’m always insanely busy and get interrupted 8,437 times a minute by ‘Hey Mom!’
This has been ah-mazing advice for decreasing my stress levels and increasing what I can get done through the day. I’m working faster and more efficiently, taking more breaks, and have more time for wifely/mother stuff that comes with homeschooling and working at home.
With the Time Out app, I’m taking a 15 second break every 10 minutes to take a drink of water, stretch, and look away from the screen. Every 55 minutes, I take 15 minutes or so to clean or cook something. It’s making a crazy dent in my epic to-do list.
My favorite apps/programs so far are Wunderlist, DropTask, Time Out, and Focus@Will. I’m also a big fan of listening to the Pandora Yoga channel while I work to help me focus, and I always have my essential oils close by of course (oils I use).
